“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Benjamin Franklin’s wise words describe an inherent shortcoming within the tax industry. Most tax firms simply analyze a client’s tax situation from the prior year, which leaves them to determine the best way to handle what has already happened — things that can’t be changed. This approach of looking backwards instead of ahead is nothing more than damage control, and it’s failing clients.

When I joined Potentia Tax in 2020 as the lead CPA, we agreed that the industry’s short-sighted approach to tax planning is inadequate. Understanding that a client’s long-term financial goals should direct our short-term tax preparation, we created a smart team that recognizes the need to look far beyond the current tax year.

Leaning on my prior experience at Ernst & Young, as well as the insights I gained from managing my own startup, I am uniquely qualified to understand a wide range of tax needs. This diverse skill-set enables me to relate to all types of clients — whether an individual, entrepreneur, or Fortune 100 company.

I am energized by working alongside clients to carefully shape their long-term tax plans. I am privileged to hear about their unique goals and big-picture plans, as well as their vision of a legacy. And I am focused on serving the individual needs of each client by strategically building a customized, forward-thinking tax plan.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and daughter. And because traveling is one of our favorite things to do, I’m always eager to plan our next adventure together!
